Cam Site Apps: Why None Are Official (And What to Use)

There is no official Stripchat app, no official Chaturbate app, and no official app for any major cam site in the App Store or Google Play — and there never will be, because both stores ban adult content outright. Every “official APK” you find ranking in Google is unofficial at best and malware at worst; some fakes have even slipped into Google Play under misspelled names. This guide covers what actually exists platform by platform, how to install the real alternative (a PWA) in under a minute, and how to spot the fakes.

Quick answer: Use the mobile browser, or install the site as a PWA — open it in Safari or Chrome, tap Share → “Add to Home Screen”, and you get an app-style icon, full screen, staying signed in, and (on Stripchat) notifications. It takes about 30 seconds, needs no store, and can’t be a fake. Never sideload a “cam site APK” from a download portal.

Why No Cam Site Has a Real App

This isn’t platforms being lazy — it’s store policy on both sides:

  • Apple’s App Store prohibits overtly sexual content entirely. There is no compliant way to ship a cam-site app for iPhone, full stop.
  • Google Play’s developer policy bans apps that “contain or promote sexual content” or are “intended to be sexually gratifying”. A cam app’s core purpose fails that test by definition.

Android does technically allow installing apps from outside the store (sideloading), which is exactly the loophole the fake-APK industry lives in — more on that below. But the platforms themselves solved the problem a cleaner way.

The Fake App Problem

Search for any cam site’s name plus “app” and the results are a minefield. What’s actually out there:

  • APK download portals offering “Stripchat APK” or “Chaturbate APK” — unofficial repackages. The package names give them away: files identifying as things like com.strcuco.coolchat have nothing to do with the real platform.
  • “Mod APK” sites promising unlocked tokens or premium features — classic malware delivery. A modded app with your login and payment details inside it is exactly as bad an idea as it sounds.
  • Typosquatted apps inside Google Play itself — lookalike listings under misspelled names (think “Stripechat”). Being in the official store doesn’t make them official; the real platform has no store presence at all, so anything you find there is by definition someone else.
  • Lookalike domains — sites like “stripchat.app” or “[brand]-mobile” that imitate the real thing to harvest logins.

The one rule that filters all of it: no major cam platform distributes a native app anywhere. If it calls itself an official cam-site app, that claim alone proves it’s fake.

The Real Answer: Install the PWA

A PWA (progressive web app) is the site itself, installed to your home screen with an app-style wrapper. No store, no APK, nothing to fake — you’re always on the real site. Stripchat is the platform that leans into this hardest, with a discreet “SC” icon, persistent login and notification support. Here’s the install on each system:

iPhone / iPad

  1. Open the cam site in Safari (the Add to Home Screen option is Safari’s).
  2. Log in if you have an account, so the installed app stays signed in.
  3. Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow).
  4. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  5. Tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen and opens full-screen like an app.

Android

  1. Open the site in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu in the top corner.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen (some sites show their own “install app” prompt — same thing).
  4. Confirm. On supporting sites this installs a proper PWA with its own window and notifications.

Because a PWA is served from the site itself, updates arrive automatically — there’s no version to download and no “latest APK” to chase. Uninstalling is the same long-press → remove as any app icon.

Privacy note: the icon sits on your home screen with the site’s branding (Stripchat’s is an unmarked “SC”). If that’s still too visible, a bookmark inside a private browser profile is the more discreet route — you lose the persistent login, which is the trade.

About Those GitHub “Chaturbate Apps”

A specific search that deserves a straight answer: open-source Chaturbate viewer and recorder projects really do exist on GitHub, and unlike APK portals they’re not scams — the code is public. But know what you’re getting:

  • They’re unofficial — Chaturbate doesn’t endorse them, and logging in through third-party code means trusting that code with your session.
  • Many are recorders, built to capture streams — which violates platform rules and performers’ consent. That’s the same stolen-content economy we cover in our platform reviews, just self-hosted.
  • No review process — you’re compiling and running whatever the repository contains, at whatever state it’s in today.

For watching, the mobile site does everything these projects do without handing your session to third-party code. There’s no version of this where the GitHub route is the sensible default.

If You Already Installed a Cam APK

  1. Uninstall it now.
  2. Change your password on the real site — from a browser, not the app — and on any other service where you reused it.
  3. Check your token/payment history for purchases you didn’t make, and your card statement for processor-name charges you don’t recognise.
  4. Run Play Protect / a malware scan on Android.
  5. If the app had accessibility or notification permissions, review what else those permissions could see.

Where This Comes From

Store policies come from Apple’s and Google’s published developer guidelines; platform mobile behaviour from the platforms’ own sites and documentation, checked August 2026. The fake-APK examples describe listings and portals visible in search results at the time of writing — package names and domains rotate, but the pattern doesn’t. We’ve used Stripchat, Chaturbate and BongaCams first-hand as viewers, including Stripchat’s PWA. Our affiliate relationship is with Stripchat — see our affiliate disclosure. It also genuinely has the best PWA of the group, which is why it’s the example above.

FAQ — Cam Site Apps

Is there an official Stripchat app?

No native app — Apple and Google both ban adult apps from their stores. Stripchat’s official mobile option is its PWA: open the site, Add to Home Screen, and you get a discreet “SC” icon that stays signed in, supports notifications and updates automatically. Any “Stripchat APK” download is unofficial.

Is there a Chaturbate app for Android or iPhone?

No official one. The mobile site is the supported route, and Add to Home Screen gives it an app-style icon. The Chaturbate-related projects on GitHub are unofficial open-source viewers and recorders — not endorsed, and the recorder variants violate platform rules.

Why are there cam apps in Google Play then?

Those are lookalikes — typosquatted names and imitation branding from third parties, since the real platforms have no store presence at all. Being inside Google Play doesn’t make them official; check the developer name and you’ll find it’s never the platform.

Are cam site APK downloads safe?

Treat them all as unsafe. There’s no official APK for any major platform, so every download portal copy is a repackage by an unknown party — with your login and payment activity passing through it. Mod APKs promising free tokens are malware delivery, full stop.

What is a PWA and is it really as good as an app?

A progressive web app is the website installed to your home screen: own icon, full-screen window, persistent login, and on supporting sites notifications too. For cam sites it’s better than a native app in one key way — it can’t be a fake, because it’s served by the real site itself.

How do I hide the icon from my home screen?

Stripchat’s PWA icon is an unmarked “SC”, which is already discreet. For more privacy, skip the install and use a bookmark inside a private browser profile — you’ll log in each time, but nothing sits on the home screen.

Does the LiveJasmin app exist?

Not as a store app. LiveJasmin runs one of the most polished mobile web experiences in the niche, and Add to Home Screen wraps it into app form. Anything presenting itself as an official LiveJasmin download is third-party.

Bottom Line

The cam app question has a one-line answer: there are no official apps, and the PWA is the real thing. Thirty seconds of Add to Home Screen gets you everything an app would offer, minus the malware roulette of APK portals and store lookalikes. Stripchat does it best; every other platform works fine from the browser.
