Short answer: legit, with three caveats. The operator is Technius Ltd of Limassol, Cyprus, named in the site footer and on four DSA transparency reports in its own help centre. We bought tokens and an Ultimate subscription on our own card on 14 September 2026, so the billing half here is first-hand. The caveats: a saved card, two short refund windows, and a help centre that contradicts itself.
Quick verdict: safe to watch — public rooms play with no account and no card. Legit as a business: a named operator, published moderation figures, documented performer verification. Weak spots: the biller keeps your card and Stripchat documents no way to remove it, and refunds expire after 30 days.

Who runs Stripchat, and what it says about itself
The footer names the company: Technius Ltd, Spyrou Kyprianou 75, Flat/Office 102, Potamos Germasogeias, 4042 Limassol, Cyprus. The same name is one of the eight billing descriptors Stripchat publishes, and it signs the transparency reports in the help centre.
Those reports are the strongest evidence here. Four of them exist, covering February 2024 to December 2025, the newest updated on 12 September 2026. Three further documents return empty bodies through the help-centre API, so we quote none of them.
The footer also carries RTA labelling, an ASACP approved-member mark, SafeLabeling.org, StopNCII.org and an 18 U.S.C. 2257 notice. Scale is documented for one window: average monthly users in the EU of 16,112,767 in the six months to 31 May 2025.
One number is missing from all of it: the founding year. We read 299 help-centre articles on 15 September 2026; the string 2016 appears in none of them, so we print no launch year either.
What your bank actually sees
This is the part we paid to learn. The card checkout asked us to pick a biller: Paymentico, marked “Billed as Paymentico”, or Epoch, marked “Billed as EPOCH.COM *Technius”. We took Paymentico. Its form warned that the charge would appear as Paymentico.com, and the bank push read “Paymentico — You spent €15.99”. The receipt came from Stripchat, not the biller.
Stripchat publishes the whole set rather than hiding it: EPOCH.COM*Technius, SegpayEU.com-TechChat, centrobill.com, www.cgbilling.com, Webbilling*Technius Ltd, Paymentico.com, Curo Payments and Technius Ltd. Its framing is “All your transactions will appear confidentially under one of the following” (article 4410734507665, updated 14 September 2026). Sofort, iDeal, Giropay and SEPA get a ninth wording: “Beneficiary: Technius Ltd / Curo Payments”.
Not one string says Stripchat, which is why an unfamiliar line sends people searching. We keep a page on cam-site charges on a statement and a narrower one on the Paymentico charge.
Payment safety: one-off charges, a saved card, two refund clocks
Token packs are one-off purchases. The checkout footer says prices include VAT and calls the promo a one-time-only offer with no recurring charges, and our €15.99 pack behaved that way. Repeat charges exist, and Stripchat lists the five situations where money moves without a fresh checkout: a refill started inside a private show, a one-click low-balance refill, Auto-Refill, Ultimate, and a Fan Club subscription. The first two are one-time charges; Ultimate and a Fan Club renew monthly.
Auto-Refill sat on our account switched off, described on screen as refilling once you hold less than 10% of the tokens you had right after your last purchase. The help centre adds the mechanics: it “refills your balance with the last token package you had manually purchased”, charging the last payment details on file, capped at four times per 24 hours on cards and PayPal.
The saved card is the real weak spot. The Paymentico form said it would keep the payment information for future purchases, and the settings page above has no card section. No help-centre article explains how to remove a stored card. So the card sits with the biller: Stripchat routes billing questions to stripchat.com/support/billing, and Paymentico answers at [email protected] or on 1-855-877-7020 in the US and Canada. Those contacts are Stripchat’s own, printed in article 4410727919889.
Refunds run on two clocks, and mixing them up is the common mistake.
- The package clock: 30 days. Last package only, tokens unspent, card or PayPal. The claim goes to the site, not the biller — “To submit a refund request, you must contact our support team”.
- The show clock: 48 hours. One show or tip, capped at the disputed amount. “We cannot offer a full refund if the disputed Private/Exclusive Private show was more than 5 minutes long.” Spying is outside the policy.
- Protect the claim. Leave the show immediately and rate it low with a reason. Stripchat asks for that in both documents, and a review cannot be written or edited later.
Chargebacks land on the platform, not the performer. Models are told “In the case of chargebacks, you are 100% protected”, and fraud refunds are handled without taking tokens back from them. Two exceptions are named: fraudulent activity, and a show the model would not deliver. A site that billed performers for every dispute would push them to fight you instead.
Ultimate is the one subscription a viewer is likely to meet: a 7-day trial on selected packages, a checkbox unticked by default, cards only, and only for accounts that never held it before. We ticked it, paid €19.99 and cancelled the same afternoon.

Account security, and what “Stripchat hacked” actually means
People search for a Stripchat hack, so start with what is not there. Across 299 help-centre articles read on 15 September 2026, there is no article about a compromised account and no report of a security incident. The word breach appears once, as a category label inside the EU reporting template of the DSA report.
Treat that as an absence of confirmation, not a denial: Stripchat’s own documentation records no incident, and we will not date or size one we cannot source. What it does publish is three preventive tools and one automatic brake.
- Two-factor authentication, in Settings and Privacy under My Password, through Google Authenticator. It also fires on a suspicious login attempt, and more than ten wrong codes block the account for 30 minutes. The official line: “if someone uses your password without permission, they still won’t be able to log in without this code”.
- An email on an unusual login: “If we notice a login from an unusual or new location, we will send an email to your verified email address”. It needs a confirmed address, which is one reason to confirm one.
- Active Sessions. Ours listed three, each with device, browser and country. That list is not documented in the help centre — it is our screenshot from 14 September 2026.
- The brake. Stripchat freezes buying and spending “as a precautionary measure when we notice a suspicious activity”, then lifts it through account verification. Many people read that freeze as a hack. It is the opposite.
Two-factor authentication ships off, and ours was off. Switch it on before you save a card. Locked out instead? The recovery mail arrives from [email protected], and the help centre says to open the most recent one and click the last link sent.
Privacy: who can see you, and how to leave
Our defaults on 14 September 2026 were Profile visible to Everyone and Tokens visible to Models. We changed neither. Check yours on that same settings page.
Hiding from the viewer list is an Ultimate perk, and only partial. Invisible Mode keeps your name out of the list, but “they do see your name when you send messages or tips”. Anonymous tipping is a separate toggle, and without it “your nickname will be visible when you tip” even in Invisible Mode.
Your camera is never live by default. Cam2Cam sits inside an Exclusive Private, so it starts when you start it, and the guidelines cover both sides: “We do not allow recording by any party during video call (Cam2Cam) shows without the consent of all participants”. How the session works is in our cam2cam guide. Performers have a geographic tool too: a model can hide her room from chosen countries, which is what an “Account Hidden” message means, and support cannot lift it for you.
Leaving is self-service. The article updated on 15 September 2026 gives the route: account menu, Settings and Privacy, Delete My Account in the top right, confirm, then Do It, with the account gone right away. We opened that screen in our own account on 15 September 2026 and the button was there. Log in later and a Restore My Account button appears. Erasure comes afterwards: “All your data will be permanently deleted automatically after 18 months”.
Two notes from our own account. We opened Settings and Privacy on 15 September 2026 and the Delete My Account button was in the top right corner, where the help centre puts it; if yours is missing, a support ticket is the fallback. Is Stripchat a scam? The scams that use its name
The riskiest thing near Stripchat is not Stripchat. It is the layer of sites selling shortcuts into it.
- Paywall bypasses. The account-creation article is blunt: “there is no official way to skip the account creation process and bypass the Stripchat paywall”.
- APKs and mod APKs. For viewers, Stripchat “does not offer a standalone mobile app through the App Store, Google Play, or as an APK”. Mobile means the browser or a home-screen shortcut. The carve-out is Plasma Streaming, the broadcasting app for models, which is genuinely in both stores — detail on our Stripchat app page.
- Token generators. All 299 articles return nothing for token generator or crack. The only page with hacks in its title is a model gear guide about ring lights, webcams and upload speeds.
- “Free tokens”. The giveaway is real but conditional: “Every hour we give 50 FREE tokens to 10 users with verified email accounts”, and a winner has 10 minutes to claim. The rest of that market is on our free Stripchat tokens page.
- Phishing and archive sites. Password mail comes from one address only, and the guidelines ban reposting content on “mirror sites, commercial re-uploads”. We link none of them.
Two mirrors are genuine: superchat.live for users in India, with the same credentials and balance, and mywebcamroom.com for models broadcasting from blocked countries.
Moderation and reporting: figures Stripchat has to publish
Here is the case for legitimacy that no competitor in this niche matches, and it exists because European law forces it into print. From the report covering 1 July to 31 December 2025, article 44195482301457: 1,169,711 notices received, a median of 41 seconds to act, and zero notices from trusted flaggers. Internal complaints totalled 35,537 — 26,560 upheld, 8,977 reversed. A process that overturns itself 8,977 times in six months has a working appeal.
From the earlier report, for 1 December 2024 to 31 May 2025: a team of 111 people in support and moderation, including 46 in-house moderators screening content around the clock. The sentence to keep is “All notices received under all the reporting methods available on Stripchat are reviewed by a human moderator”. Do not add the two reports together; the periods differ. Uploads are held before anyone sees them, too: “Whenever you upload some footage, it will be hidden for users until it passes our moderation”.
Performer verification decides whether the people on camera are consenting adults, and Stripchat documents it step by step: ID on both sides, a live selfie, then “A color picture of you holding your ID close to your face along with a piece of paper with the current date”.
Reporting has published targets, and no account is needed to file one — the form takes an email typed by hand. A chat message gets 5 to 15 minutes, a report from a profile 1 to 2 hours, the report form 24 hours. Illegal or non-consensual content has a ceiling: “Complaints regarding illegal content or non-consensual content will be reviewed and resolved within a maximum of 5 business days”. Appeals stay open six months.
What the complaints are actually about
Instead of quoting forum threads we cannot verify, read the categories Stripchat files itself. In the six months to 31 May 2025 it logged 641,664 notices: Illegal or Harmful Speech 199,782, scams and fraud 141,853, data protection 68,683 and protection of minors 41,225. Fraud is the second-largest bucket, which says where the risk sits: people in the rooms, not the checkout.
- Room bans belong to the model. She can ban any user for 24 hours, 30 days or forever, and “users cannot be un-banned without the model’s permission”. A site-wide mute is a separate penalty and runs up to 30 days.
- Stripchat disagrees with itself on private messages. The help centre says “Only Ultimate members and Friends can send private messages to models”. The Basic Tour says models can set a price for private chat. The perks table shows a tick for registered accounts. We read all three and will not invent a number.
Then the gaps, stated rather than filled in: no support response time, no way to delete a saved card, no founding year, no rule on leftover tokens. Our scored write-up from the same paid account is the Stripchat review, at 9/10.

No, but sites trading on its name are. Stripchat states there is no official way to bypass its paywall, offers viewers no app in the App Store, Google Play or as an APK, and has no page about token generators. The hourly giveaway hands 50 tokens to 10 users with verified email accounts.

We found no confirmation. All 299 help-centre articles, read on 15 September 2026, contain no compromised-account article and no report of a security incident; the one match for breach is a category label in the DSA template. We record a hack as unconfirmed rather than disproved.
Does Stripchat give refunds?
Sometimes, on two clocks. A token package can be refunded within 30 days if it is your latest one, the tokens are unspent, and you paid by card or PayPal; the request goes to Stripchat support. A dispute over one show has 48 hours, with no full refund past 5 minutes.

Stripchat passes every test that can be run from outside: a named company with an address, a matching billing descriptor, four transparency reports with real numbers, human review of every notice, documented performer verification, and a cancellation that takes one click. Nothing was hidden from us.
The risks are mundane. The biller keeps your card and Stripchat offers no screen to remove it. Refund windows are short. Two-factor authentication is off until you switch it on. So use the site the cautious way: watch free, buy only what you plan to spend that evening, enable 2FA, and read the statement the same month.
