What Candy AI’s own terms say — the baseline
We checked each service’s own pricing, terms, refunds, help centre and content rules on 9 September 2026 (GirlfriendGPT and LusyChat on 2 October 2026, Dream Companion on 5 October 2026), and every figure cites the section it came from. Secret Desires was checked on 6 October 2026. Where a company doesn’t publish a price before you register, we say so rather than copy a number off another list — five of the twelve don’t.
On 9 September 2026, Candy AI had no working public pricing page — /pricing returned a 404, and the homepage names monthly, quarterly and yearly plans without figures, so Candy AI is itself in the “price after signup” group.
Subscriptions include a batch of tokens “to use across voice, chat, image, and video” plus top-ups; the amount per plan, the top-up cost and whether tokens expire are nowhere public. That one pool across four features is the cost complaint in a sentence.
The rest is better than most of this list. Section 10.1 points you to “Settings / Unsubscribe”, and Section 9 confirms auto-renewal until you do. Refunds run 24 hours from payment (§10.4.1), and §10.4.3 lets EU and UK buyers “withdraw from your contract within 14 days of initial purchase without giving any reason”. The Community Guidelines (§12) prohibit sharing “images that resemble real persons”.
The weak spot is data: no in-account delete button appears in the published pages, account data is kept “for three years after your last Account activity”, and the Privacy Notice (§5.a) says third parties “may receive the content of your messages exchanged with our chatbot”. Branch 1 — leaving because the tokens add up
Candy AI’s problem here isn’t the price, it’s the opacity: a shared pool with no published burn rate. Two fixes — a service that prints the cost of every action, or one with no credits at all.
OurDream AI — publishes the coin maths
OurDream AI answers “where did my tokens go” directly. Its help centre prices every action: an in-chat image is 5 dreamcoins, a standard generation 10 coins for two images, a voice call 50 coins per minute, video 100 coins per 5 seconds up to a 60-second cap — 1,200 coins for a full clip. Subscriber messages cost nothing on the standard models; without a subscription each costs 1 coin.
The exception is Genius and Lively Genius, whose replies cost 1 coin even with a subscription (read 17 September 2026). Pricing is public: $19.99/month, or $9.99/month billed as one payment of $119.88 a year, with 1,000 dreamcoins on signup on monthly (2,000 on the annual plan) and 1,000 every month after. Coins don’t refresh monthly and, in their words, “Coins do not expire!” Verified 9 Sep 2026.
Two catches. Cancelling doesn’t only stop billing: “if you were to unsubscribe from the service all images and videos generated would be blurred”, and they stay blurred until you resubscribe — download first.
And the refund rule in practice is narrower than the policy: its help centre states they “cannot issue refunds for product that has used more than 25% of it’s amount” [sic]. Deletion is self-serve from the profile danger zone, done in 24–48 hours, unused coins forfeited. Crypto payments are final; PayPal isn’t accepted.
SpicyChat AI — no credits to run out of
SpicyChat AI takes the opposite route: no purchasable credit pool at all, just flat tiers with unlimited messages. After the 8 September 2026 price rise, Get a Taste is $5.95/month or $60/year, True Supporter $19.95/month or $199.95/year, and I’m All In $29.95/month or $299.95/year; existing subscribers are grandfathered, since an active subscription “will keep renewing at the price you pay today”. The tier buys memory rather than volume — 4K tokens of context free and on Get a Taste, 8K on True Supporter, 16K on I’m All In, replies capped at 180 tokens below True Supporter and 300 above. No video generation.
Cancellation runs through your profile’s Manage Subscription link to the payment platform, access lasting to the end of the cycle; a “Pay By Bank” purchase doesn’t auto-renew at all. Refunds are the weak point — “available only under exceptional circumstances”, no stated window.
Two facts other lists skip: age verification is required in the UK, France, Italy, Australia and 26 US states, with SpicyChat stating it never sees or stores the documents used; and its Terms grant broad, perpetual rights to use, copy, sell and distribute user chats and generations.
CrushOn AI — the fullest published price ladder
CrushOn AI publishes a full ladder before signup: Standard $5.99/month with 2,000 message credits, Premium $14.99/month (marked down from $19.99) with 6,000, Luxe $39.99/month with 20,000, Elite $89.99/month with 55,000, Imperial $199.99/month with 125,000, with annual billing cutting the effective rate substantially. The free plan gives 100 credits a month.
Verified 9 Sep 2026 — the Premium discount is flagged as temporary on their own page. Credits are one currency, not four: coins convert to bonus messages 1:1, spent only after the monthly allowance. Tier also buys memory (8K free up to 24K) and reply length (225 to 650 characters).
One free-tier detail to know before investing hours in a character: “Chat History will be deleted after 7 days of inactivity” on the free plan, while paid plans keep it for the membership period. Cancellation is Profile → My Subscription → Manage → Cancel, and the Terms confirm “service will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle.”
Refunds are a flat no — “We will not issue refunds of usage fees”. Deletion sits in Settings but is blocked while a subscription is active, and the FAQ contradicts itself: one answer says a deleted account “cannot be recovered”, another offers recovery within 3 days.
Secret Desires — unlimited messages from $7.99, extras paid in Hearts
Secret Desires AI (Playhouse Media LLC, Dover, Delaware) is an adults-only companion for chat, pictures, short videos and voice calls. Plans read on 6 October 2026: Pro $7.99 a month with 100 Hearts, Ultra $13.99 with 200, Max $19.99 with 300, all with unlimited messages. Hearts pay for extras such as video, calls and premium chat engines. Signed out, the plans page opened under a “Register to View Plans” window, the monthly prices beneath it.
Top-up packs in the page data run from 50 Hearts for $4.99 to 10,000 for $519.99, but per-action costs are “intentionally not listed”, the guide says, and whether unused Hearts carry over is not stated. All sales are final; EU residents get 14 days to withdraw. In November 2025, 404 Media reported nearly two million of its stored files exposed; Trust and Security pages appeared in March 2026. Best free AI girlfriend: what the free tiers include
Three of the picks publish real numbers. CrushOn AI’s free plan gives 100 message credits a month, adds 20 inspiration replies a day and keeps 200 messages per character, though the free plan deletes chat history after a week without activity. SpicyChat AI’s free context is 4,096 tokens with replies capped at 180. GirlfriendGPT’s free plan card says 20 messages, and its terms give 2 or 3 characters as an example. Kindroid, for comparison, gives unlimited messages on its Lite model, two companions and 5,000 audio characters — lifetime, not monthly.
OurDream AI is not free in practice: unsubscribed chat costs coins. Kupid AI promises only “a free test of a few messages” before registration (Privacy Policy §2), and Candy AI and HeraHaven AI name a free entry with no numbers. Verified 9 Sep 2026.
Branch 2 — leaving because of limits and rules
Be clear which limit you mean, because only one is shoppable. Every service here that publishes a content policy bans the same hard categories — content involving minors, and sexual images of real, identifiable people made without consent. Nomi AI, Kupid AI and HeraHaven AI publish no rule on real-person likeness at all, which is why they aren’t recommended here (see the list under the comparison table). Only the mechanical limits vary.

GirlfriendGPT — a character catalogue from SpicyChat’s owner
GirlfriendGPT is built around a public catalogue of roleplay characters written by its users, rather than one private companion. It is run by NextDay AI of Montreal, which also runs SpicyChat AI, and its prices show only after sign-in.
Its plan cards in the site code (2 October 2026) list Premium at 5,000 messages and 400 coins a month, Deluxe at 20,000 and 1,200 with 2x memory, and Elite at unlimited messages, 2,000 coins and 8x memory. Checkout text in the code names the statement line as NDAI.CHAT, unconfirmed until a real statement shows it; the terms make refunds the exception. More in our GirlfriendGPT review.
Branch 3 — leaving over privacy and data
This is where Candy AI is weakest and most alternatives are no better. The test is checkable: does the company document a delete flow you can run yourself, and say how long anything survives it?
- Self-serve and quick: OurDream AI deletes from the profile danger zone in 24–48 hours, unused coins forfeited.
- Self-serve with a tail: Kindroid keeps subscription and currency records “to prevent abuse” and puts the last companion on a 24-hour delay; Nomi AI removes personal information in about 28 days.
- Long retention after deletion: Kupid AI’s in-app button offers to “permanently delete this account and all of its data”, but its Privacy Policy (§12) stores personal information “for a period of 6 (six) years after you cease being a User”. HeraHaven AI keeps data 5 years after erasure and also states “your communication with the chatbot may become visible by our employees”. GirlfriendGPT deletes within 30 days, but its privacy notice usually keeps personal information six years after you leave.
LusyChat — text-and-voice chat with no photo uploads
LusyChat, run by Malta’s Tensoris Technology Limited, is adults-only; its Terms (§2) call it “a text-and-voice chat product”, and §5 says it “does not accept file uploads of any kind”. Premium is $14.99/month, Deluxe $43.99, Ultra $69.99; billed yearly, from $7.99/month ($95.88), all shown with a discount badge (25–74% off). The FAQ describes a free tier with “a generous number of daily messages”, without a number.
Plans renew until cancelled in account settings; Terms §8 say “all sales are final and fees are non-refundable” unless the law requires otherwise, and the FAQ calls account deletion “permanent”. The Terms bar recreating any real, identifiable person (§5) and name deepfakes, face swaps and voice clones (§7). One mismatch: §6 says “The Service does not generate images or video”, while the site menu links Create Image and Create Video. Read 2 October 2026.
Dream Companion — a Berlin company that shows prices before signup
Dream Companion, run by Berlin’s Miracle AI UG, is an adults-only AI companion with chat, images, video and voice. On 5 October 2026 Premium was $11.99 a month or $69.99 a year, Ultimate $44.99 or $299.88. Prices are shown per day, with a “Save 70%” badge on yearly billing, but its own figures put the saving at 51% on Premium ($69.99 against 12 × $11.99 = $143.88) and 44% on Ultimate ($299.88 against $539.88).
Cancel any time under Settings → Unsubscribe; the Terms refund subscriptions only for a company error or technical fault. The character builder accepts image uploads, including a Face image field (interface text in its /create-character/ page code, 5 October 2026); the upload form says “No real individuals or organizations”, the Terms bar including “another person in a photo without their consent”, and no document names deepfakes. Kindroid NSFW — tells you where the line is
Kindroid is a companion app whose moderation document, updated 15 August 2026, names the three categories it acts against and explicitly allows fictional adult content. Its documented catch: the trial needs a payment method and converts to a subscription unless cancelled. Nastia AI — the cleanest documented exit
Nastia AI is a companion app that publishes its deletion steps in full and says deletion “takes effect immediately”. Its documented minuses: prices appear only after signup, and Terms §6 says “All purchases are non-refundable”. Coming from Replika: NSFW was removed in February 2023, and what replaced it
“Replika NSFW” is a search about a loss, and the dates are on record. On 2 February 2023 the Italian data-protection authority ordered Luka, Inc. to stop processing Italian users’ data, citing missing age checks and no legal basis; the order says nothing about erotic roleplay. A week later, on 9 February, founder Eugenia Kuyda told r/replika the app had “implemented additional safety measures and filters”. On 13 February she added: “These filters are here to stay”.
The word itself came on 25 March 2023: “we will not be offering ERP for new users in Replika”. Accounts created before 1 February 2023 got a rollback to the “v01/31/23” model under Version history, which Reuters reported the same day. The company said it would build “a separate romantic app to do it the right way”; that app is Blush, now published by Endura LLC, and its App Store advisories include “Infrequent/Mild Sexual Content and Nudity”.
In 2026 Replika documents romance and not sex. Its help centre lists “Set your relationship status to Romantic Partner” as a Pro feature, and across all 95 help articles the words sexual, erotic and NSFW appear zero times. The App Store rates the app 18+ with no sexual-content advisory. Nothing in the current help centre or Terms mentions the 2023 legacy model, so treat any claim that it still works as unverified. Two more things before you switch. The Terms of 30 March 2026 now bar configuring a companion “to roleplay as a current or former romantic partner, family member, colleague, public figure, or any other identifiable individual”. And the Italian regulator fined Luka €5 million on 19 May 2025, under appeal. Replika publishes no prices; the App Store shows in-app purchases from $7.99 to $89.99 without saying which is Pro, Ultra or Platinum.
NSFW Replika alternatives: which apps here fit a Replika habit
What a Replika user is usually after is one persistent companion with memory, a relationship status, and no filter on adult conversation. Candy AI and Nomi AI are built that way rather than as a gallery of other people’s characters, and the figures are the ones from the comparison table above.
Candy AI adds voice, images and video on one token balance, bans imagery of real people, and gives most buyers a 24-hour refund window. Nomi AI is “free (no credit card required) to start chatting” and has the clearest cancellation documents here.
If the 2023 filter is what you are escaping, read each app’s own ban list first: every app here that publishes one still prohibits content involving minors and images of real people used without consent. Nomi AI, Kupid AI and HeraHaven AI publish no rule on real-person likeness, and “no filter” in this niche means adult fiction between adults, not no rules. AI girlfriend realistic or anime: which apps look real
None of these companies rates its own image quality publicly, and we compared from public data rather than generating pictures ourselves. What is documented is the style choice. Kupid AI offers two companion styles, Realistic and Anime; OurDream AI splits its character builder the same way. Kindroid’s images are photo-style selfies, with video selfies, avatars and inpainting on paid plans. Nomi AI and SpicyChat AI generate images but list no video feature. Verified 9 Sep 2026.
Three names on other lists, and what their terms don’t say
HeraHaven, Kupid and Nomi appear on nearly every “Candy AI alternatives” listicle, usually as free picks. They’re real products and we aren’t calling them unsafe. But our bar for a recommendation is that a service’s own rules contain an explicit prohibition on depicting real people without consent — and as of 9 September 2026, these three don’t. Their prices are also all behind a login, so we have no figures to give you.
- Nomi AI — free to start with no card, and the tidiest policy pages of the three, including one on California’s SB 243. Cancel at Profile → Subscription → Manage Subscription; delete from Account Settings, personal information gone in about 28 days. No refunds for “buyers remorse, lack of usage, or dissatisfaction”. Its Terms cover impersonation, harassment and illegal use and set a hard 18+ rule, but never name real-person likeness.
- Kupid AI — the only one of the three that publishes a billing descriptor, telling users at checkout that “this charge will show on your statement as ‘Kupid AI'”. Against that: coins credited free “expire six (6) months after the date they are credited” while purchased packs don’t; the trial charges $0.50 for card verification, which it says is “refunded immediately”, and converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled; “All sales of digital products are final and non-refundable”; PayPal and Patreon subscriptions must be cancelled on those platforms. No content policy page exists.
- HeraHaven AI — a companion app with no pricing route on its site. Its terms say “All charges are final and non-refundable”; deletion is an email request, and data is kept five years after erasure. What we left out and why
Two categories are missing on purpose. The first is nudify and undress tools — services that take a photo of a real person and generate a nude image from it. The second is face-swap tools for putting a real person’s face into sexual content.
US federal law has prohibited publishing non-consensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated depictions, since the TAKE IT DOWN Act was signed on 19 May 2025, and every service recommended above bans it in their own rules. We won’t list a tool whose main use is the thing the law and its own competitors prohibit.
One named exclusion, because it turns up on other lists: Muah AI. Its character-creation flow invites users to upload a photo, its chat tools include an “X-Ray” image function and an uncensored toggle on video generation, and its published Terms of Service contained no clause restricting uploads to your own likeness or prohibiting use of a real person’s image on 9 September 2026.
