“Stripchat recordings” covers two unrelated things. One is a paid feature inside the site: the model switches it on, you pay her per-minute price, and the file sits in your account. The other is outside sites selling copies nobody authorised. This page separates them.
Quick answer: Stripchat records shows officially, and the model decides. She can open her public show to recording at her own per-minute price, or allow recordings of her privates. Your copy lands in your account under “My Collection”, at up to 720p. The help centre nowhere describes saving it to your device. Anything branded “Stripchat archive” or “recorder site” sits outside the platform and breaks its content rule.

How Stripchat Recording Works for Viewers
Recording is a switch on the model’s side, not a button the platform hands everyone. In a public room the tell is a “START REC” control at the top. Stripchat’s help centre, updated 14 September 2026, says a model can enable it and that you then record “paying a per-minute rate”. When the show ends, the site asks whether to keep the file in “My Collection”.
The price is hers. One room we had open on 14 September 2026 offered “Record public show → My Collection, 120 tokens/min”, about €11.50 a minute at the 520-pack rate of €0.096 a token. The next room may ask a fraction of that, or nothing. Two limits: if the model opens a Private the recording stops by itself, and “the maximum quality of public show recordings is 720p” (help centre, updated 15 September 2026).
Privates use the same panel with a different scope: Private and Exclusive Private only, not Ticket and not Group, again at 720p. The request dialog tells you before you pay. In the room we opened on 14 September 2026, model rated 4.8 from 159 ratings, Private ran at 32 tokens a minute and listed “You get recording of show”. Exclusive Private ran at 44 with “Only you get recording of show”. Both carried a 10-minute minimum.
Stripchat also sorts rooms by it. The Recordable Privates filter held 5,181 rooms at 15:39 on 14 September 2026, against 289 under Spy on Shows and 7,206 offering Video Call — counts from that minute, not constants.
Where Your Recordings Live, and Whether You Can Download Them
Your copy stays inside the account. Four help-centre articles use the same phrasing: hit Save and the file goes to your video gallery, to “access and re-watch at any time”. The gallery is My Collection, and it follows the account rather than the device — the same entry sits in the VR navigation, in one menu with Watch History.
Downloading is where the honest answer is a negative. We searched the September 2026 dump of the help centre, 299 articles, for the word download: it appears for payout reports and invoices, broadcasting software, toy and authenticator apps, crypto wallets and speed-test readings. Never for saving a recording to a device. Stripchat does not document a download, which is not the same claim as impossible.
Is there a Stripchat VOD library?
No, and the words archive, VOD and downloader appear nowhere in those 299 articles. There is no back catalogue of past broadcasts. What exists is model-controlled: recordings you paid for in My Collection, videos a model uploads to her profile, and Fan Club content. No storage period is documented, so treat a saved recording as available rather than guaranteed.
What the Model Controls
The feature hangs on one panel: My Show Controls, then Record Show. For public shows she enables the switch and types her own per-minute price — Stripchat pitches it to models as a way “to make some passive income”. For privates the same switch covers Private and Exclusive Private together; she cannot allow one and block the other.
- She sees who is recording: that viewer carries “a camera icon next to their username” in her chat user list.
- In an Exclusive Private, “only users will be able to save the recording” — her side gets no copy.
- A viewer’s copy of a Private survives “even if you decide not to keep your copy”, in the help centre’s words to models.
- Her own copy starts Unpublished, with access later set to free for all, registered users, friends, or paid.
Models can record themselves too, across public, Group, Ticket and Spy shows. The ceilings are hard: “your total recording limit per day is 40 minutes”, counted from the first save of the day rather than by calendar date. An unsaved file also expires — “you have 5.5 hours to make up your mind”. After a trim slider, a rename and a cover she can “sell recordings, upload them to your Fan Club, or use them as publicly available content”.
Cam2Cam is where the rule points at the viewer. Stripchat’s Community Guidelines, updated 15 September 2026, disallow recording by any party during a video call “without the consent of all participants”, and add that recording a user requires that user’s personal consent. Recorded Shows and Model Videos You Can Buy
Recorded video is also a product, sold by the performer rather than hosted by an archive. She prices gallery content herself inside a wide band — “Photo albums (1-9,999 tokens)” and “Video gallery (1-9,999 tokens)”, per the help centre on 15 September 2026.
Real prices sit under that ceiling. On one model’s profile on 14 September 2026 the Videos tab ran 350 to 555 tokens a clip, roughly €34 to €53 at the 520-pack rate. What “Stripchat Archive” Sites Actually Are
They are copies of streams republished without permission, and Stripchat’s Community Guidelines address them directly. The rule is written for viewers: “Copying, reproducing, distributing, publishing, or otherwise exploiting content from Stripchat on third-party websites without authorization is expressly prohibited.” The enforcement note names the targets, “mirror sites, commercial re-uploads”, plus channels redistributing models’ content. Those guidelines govern the account you watch from, so re-sharing a recording you paid for is the same breach as running the mirror.
The takedown pressure shows up in the results themselves. We ran the query at 15:33 on 15 September 2026, safe search off, from a US locale. The first page for “stripchat archive” closed with Google’s notice that one result had been removed after a DMCA complaint, with a link to that complaint at LumenDatabase.org. The count is a snapshot, not a constant. We are not naming the sites that remained.
What can be said without guessing: no consent step, no model in the revenue path, no moderation or age-verification chain anyone can audit, and addresses that churn as complaints land. We installed nothing from them, so treat the malware warnings you read elsewhere as plausible and untested.
What a “Stripchat recorder site” search returns
The two queries pull different worlds. “Stripchat archive” returns hosted copies, and that page carried the DMCA notice. “Stripchat recorder”, checked the same way at 15:34 on 15 September 2026, returned mostly software: capture apps, screen recorders and scripts on code-hosting sites, plus Stripchat’s own Recordable category page. No DMCA notice on that page.
Downloaders and “Recorder” Apps
Strip the marketing and a third-party recorder does one thing: capture a public stream from outside the site. It cannot open a Private you did not pay for, because that stream never reaches you, and it cannot write into My Collection, a record on Stripchat’s side. What it captures is still the model’s content, so publishing the result lands on the rule above.
The mobile version of the promise deserves the most care. Stripchat’s help centre, updated 15 September 2026, states it “does not offer a standalone mobile app through the App Store, Google Play, or as an APK” for viewers. Any Android package calling itself a Stripchat recorder was therefore built by somebody else, and wants permissions nobody audited. If Your Show Was Leaked: The Takedown Route
Models have a built-in path, and Stripchat is unusually blunt about its limits. The article updated 15 September 2026 describes DMCA offered “as an additional service”. Log in to the model account, open Settings and Privacy, scroll to the DMCA Protection field at the bottom, then file a request listing every infringing URL.
- Timing: “it might take a few months in order for the content to be successfully removed”.
- Ownership: the service is “offered by a third-party company”, and Stripchat says it does not control submitted requests.
- Search results are a separate job, handled by Google’s copyright removal form; the notice on that “stripchat archive” page is what a granted request looks like from outside.
